Spotless clean on all moving parts it the rule, If you need anymore help just ask, i've done a lot of them, two schools of thought 1st way and most expensive is ful rebuild engine out of car and pull crabk out have reground and bores bored and new pistons etc this is most expensive way and they rarely need this level, most i have done is engine in car and do a refresh, ie hone the bores and rering it valves out a must and relap valve seats etc, rarely have head skimmed as there is only a max of 0.60mm that can be skimmed off so would only do if head is damaged warped, i also use 2 piece piston rings sets for oil control rings as these are better i have found after rebuild the oil use is very low compared to some that had the single piece nitride rings whish are crap, link below for a turbo n14 and non turbo n16 also a audi 3.2 v6 i'm in middle of doing might help knowing how i do them, mini one 1.4 rebuild 2008 & 2009 cooper s jcw View attachment 279342 View attachment 279343 View attachment 279344
